DISCOVER POINTE VISTA AT LAKE TEXOMA
A PREMIER MASTERPLANNED COMMUNITY
The Pointe Vista masterplan brings a transformative vision to this destination. This emerging resort community delivers new vibrancy at every level — on the water, on land, at home on the lakefront. The experience spans across an impressive 2,700 acres, and 19 miles of Lake Texoma shoreline.
A vibrant resort community of like-minded people is rising here — where more than 2,000 homes will have access to innovative lakeside amenities. At the heart of it all lies the landmark Caribbean Bay, with clear blue waters and white sand — a taste of the seaside just steps away. The community is also home to Oklahoma’s most inspired 18-hole golf course, and a full-service marina that offers access to some of the finest boating and fishing in the nation.
“The vision for Pointe Vista is a source of deep pride for us. The masterplan brings everything we love about Lake Texoma to life – plus a whole lot more for the next generation in the years to come.”

What is now Lake Texoma was once the meandering valley of the Red River. The area was first peopled by several tribes such as the Caddo, Apache, and Arapaho, and later by the Choctaw and Chickasaw, and the land was cultivated throughout the 19th century. In those early years, farms in the region were often inundated by floodwaters, a challenge for generations.
When Roosevelt’s Depression-era infrastructure projects began in the ‘30s, dams for flood control and hydroelectricity were a focus. The Denison Dam, which created Lake Texoma, was completed in 1944. The world’s first rolled earthfill dam, it was a crowning achievement for postwar progress in the region.
It also created the shimmering body of water we see today, which quickly became a legendary destination. Rumors of visits from John Wayne and other Hollywood icons still swirl, largely around the Lake Texoma Lodge (now the site of the Chickasaw Casino). More recently, Blake Shelton made an entire album about his life in the region. The legend of Lake Texoma lives on.
